Abstract
The present doctoral work deals with the isolation of chemical constituents from two medicinally important plants namely, Taxus wallichiana Zucc. And Podophyllum emodi var. hexandrum collected from the northern areas of Pakistan.

Phytochemical investigations on the aerial parts of Taxus wallichiana Zucc. Led to the isolation of three new metabolites, 5a-hydroxy-1B, 7B, 9a, 10B, 13a-pentaacetoxy-4(20)-taxa-11(12)-diene (142), 15-acetyl-11)15-1)-abeo-taxane (143), and 5a, 7B, 9a, 10B-tetrahydroxy-1(15-11)-abeo-taxa-4(20)-12-diene(144)along with two known taxiods, 1B-hydroxy-7,9-deacetylbaccatin 1 (145) and 5-decinnamate taxagifine (146) reported earlier from T. conadesis.
