Abstract
The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part is related to the studies on the chemical constituents of cocculus pendulus. Extensive studies on the alkaloidal content of the leaves of C. pendulus have resulted in the isolation and structure elucidation of ten new bisbenzylisoquinoline bases.
