Abstract
The work presented in this thesis includes the development and validation of HPLC methods for controlling the manufacture of various active pharmaceutical ingredients. Methods have been developed to separate and determine the impurities in the in-process materials and finished products including betamethasone and derivatives. Cephalosporins, griseofulvin, ranitidine, salbutamol, sulphamethoxazole, and ibuprofen. The new methods are rapid, precise, accurate, sensitive and robust. These are simple, work under isocratic conditions, and do not involve any special sample preparation, or use of surfactaints/ion-paring agents in the mobile phase. The methods provided by the author are being successfully employed to monitor and control the manufacturing processes and for testing product stability in local industry. Most of these methods have the potential to replace the less accurate, time-consuming, labour-intensive conventional pharmacopeial methods for routine analysis.
