Abstract

The equations governing the steady plane flows of a finitely conducting incompressible fluid of variable viscosity in the presence of a transverse magnetic field are transformed into a new system of equations using Martins method and are analytically solved for radial, vortex and parallel flows. In case of radial and parallel flows, the exact solutions involve arbitrary functions enabling us to generate a large number of solutions.
