Abstract
The present research was conducted to study difference in marriage systems and success in marriages in Pakistan. To conduct the scientific analysis of research the marriage systems were divided in to three categories i.e. ā€œTotally Arranged marriagesā€ ā€œPartially Arranged and partially Love marriagesā€ and ā€œTotally Love Marriagesā€. The success of marriage was determined by the outcome of marriage. The fates of ā€œ Partially Arranged and Partially Love Marriagesā€ and ā€œ Totally Arranged Marriagesā€ were compared with the fate of ā€œTotally Love Marriagesā€

A total number of 300 married individuals participated in the study. A standardized interview form was constructed in order to find out the results of the marriages in Pakistan and to collect some biographical information from the individuals. Divorce and Separation were taken qwas the criteria for unsuccessful marriages and length (individuals who were currently living together and have been happily married for more than five years of marriages was taken as a criterion for successful marriages.

A chi-square test was computed for the statistical analysis of the data.

The research findings provide the evidence that ā€œ Partially Arranged and Partially Love marriagesā€ and ā€œTotally Arranged Marriagesā€ are successful as compared to ā€œTotally Love Marriagesā€ are unsuccessful in upper economic and educated groups of Pakistan as the number of successful marriages in upper economic and educated groups of Pakistan were high if the marriages were based on the system of ā€œPartially arranged and partially love marriagesā€ Furthermore, the analysis of data also provides a slight clue that even in the families of working women of Pakistan the love marriages are not successful.
