Abstract There are various means, sources, techniques and methods to impart education. Museum is one of the unique imitable educational institutions whose basic function is to provide education in an intelligible and interesting way to the people who visit it. It is not merely a place of entertainment but also its activities are used for pubic, so that they can have a real exposure of the evolutionary status of contemporary social norms. Despite the importance of the problem, almost no systematic research on the appropriate role and function of museums in Sindh has ever been conducted in the past. Moreover, relatively little has been done in terms of formulating a multi dimensional framework addressing the role failure of the concerned agencies. A few columnists have attempted to discover evidence about a part of the whole process. In this study an integrated and holistic viewpoint has been adopted that includes the most critical issues simultaneously and in a multi-dimensional framework. The purpose of this study was to initiate an attempt to discover the role failure of museums in disseminating knowledge. This study attempted to determine the most important, influential factors that have significant, value-added impacts on the growth of the museums. Specifically, the study attempted to systematically discover evidence about the determinants of problems faced by the museums. The present study is exploratory. In the present study universe is €œMuseums of Sindh€ Not a single study is at hand on role performance of the museums in Sindh. Attempt has been made to unearth the problem from the initial stages to arrive of the sound conclusion. In the present study quota sampling was used to determine sample size and data collection from visitors. Also proportionate stratified sampling method was used to select the sample size of administrative staff of museums. The sample of 57 respondents working in eleven museums of Sindh was collected. Moreover, a sample of 300 students and 115 general masses visiting the museum was also collected from the universe of the present study. Survey method was adopted for this study. Data for the study was collected from both primary and secondary sources. The simple and contingency tables were made to correlate the different variables used in the hypotheses. To test the hypotheses, statistical methods including SPSS were applied to the data mentioned in contingency tables. The chi-square test was applied to test the significance of the relationship between the two variables of hypothesis. The obtained results indicated that the majority of museums' staff was postgraduate and trained. Vast majority of museums were dependent on government funding. Therefore, they were suffering due to shortage of funds. It was found that the museums having proper facilities attracted more students and general masses. On the other hand the museums having less facilities could not attract the students and visitors.
