Abstract Education is a powerful instrument of socio-economic and political change concomitant to global, technological and democratic developments. So it is necessary to improve quality of education at different levels of education. Intermediate Level of education is the most crucial stage of entire system of education. It holds a key position and is the terminal stage for majority of students. The large number of educated manpower in Pakistan is available at this stage. Improvement of quality of this stage is essential for futuristic development, which is directly related to the quality of teachers, students and the support services provided to them by the educational institutions. The major purpose of the study was to investigate the Quality of Education at Intermediate Level in Punjab. Which now forms part of secondary education and is commonly known as higher secondary education. The main objectives of the studies were (1) To find out the adequacy of educational facilities available for teaching at Intermediate Level. (2) To explore the quality of Curricula at Intermediate Level. (3) To determine the suitability of medium of Instruction at Intermediate Level. (4) To examine the appropriateness of In-service training provided to the teachers at Intermediate Level. (5) To make some workable recommendations for the improvement of quality education at Intermediate Level. All the Degree Colleges, all the Intermediate Colleges and all the Higher Secondary Schools were constitutes the population, all the heads, all the teachers and students of these institutions were also included in the population. A random sampling technique was used for selection of the sample. Forty Degree Colleges (twenty male, twenty female), forty Intermediate Colleges (twenty male, twenty female) and forty Higher Secondary Schools (twenty male, twenty female) were included in the sample. The principals of one hundred and twenty institutions, six hundred teachers, and twelve hundred students were also included in the sample. Three questionnaires (one each for principals, teachers and students) were administered to the sample principals, teachers and students to get data. Collected data were tabulated, analyzed and interpreted in the light of objectives of the study by applying statistical tools of research such as mean, standard deviation, standard error of mean and estimated population mean. In the light of the conclusions it is recommended that audio-visual aids should be provided to the institutions, teachers be provided training and be motivated to use these A. V. aids to make the teaching learning process effective. Resources play a very prominent role in generating quality. For this purpose it is recommended that allocating sufficient budget for education and by improving the pay scales of the teachers quality should be enhanced. Infra structure also affects quality of education, it is recommended that proper physical facilities should be provided to the institutions for quality education.
