Abstract
A detailed systematic of the Siwalik Giraffids has been worked out as a result of which eight species belonging to five genera have been identified,. These are Giraffokeryx punjabiensis, Giraffa Priscilla, Giraffa sivalensis, Sivatherium giganteum, Helladotherium grande, Hydaspitherium megacephalum and Hydaspitherium magnum.

Status and position of the Siwalik and non-Siwalik genera and species has been reviewed and the following changes have been made;

i)Hamilton (1978) made five subfamilies of the giraffidae as (I) Okapinae, (II) Sibatheriinase,(III) Samotheriinae,(IV) Giraffine, (V) Palaeotraginae, instead of the three subfamilies were(i) Palaeotraginae,(ii) Giraffinae, (iii) Sivatheriinae. I am agree with Hamilton’s (1978) classification.

ii) Hydaspitherium Synonymised with Bramatherium by Hamilton(1978), has been resurrected.

iii) The genus Giraffokeryx included in the subfamily Sivatheriinae by Hamilton(1978), has been transferred to the subfamily palaeotraginae
