Abstract

Susceptibility of Helicoveroa (Heliothis) armigera Hubner to spore-o-endotoxin complex of indigenous (HD-694 and HD-(95) and exotic (United States Department of Agriculture HD244, HD-241 and HD-263) strains of Bacillus thuringiensis Berliner were tested and compared using standard bioassay techniques. The strains of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) were more affective against H armigera larvae than Indigenous strains. The strains viz HD-263 (27,000 IU/mg), HD-241 (26,000 IU/mg) and HD-244 (24,000 IU/mg) were found more potent than reference standard strain HD-1-S-1980 (16,000 IU/mg). Whereas strainsHD-694 (14,000 IU/mg) and HD-695 (8,500 IU/mg) proved relatively less potent in comparison with reference standard,
