Abstract

Ahmad, Manzoor. A study of genera and species of typhlocybinae(Homoptera: Cicadellidae) from west Pakistan( under the guidance of S. Hamid Mahmood). This work constitutes taxonomic study of leafhoppers of the subfamily typhlocybinae –Cicadellidae, from West Pakistan. The area lies on the western border of the oriental region, and to-date no faunistic study of the subfamily form this area has been made. There also does not exist any significant information about its economic importance. The author has described or red scribed twenty genera including nine new genera and forty five species, including forty three new species, form west Pakistan. The tribe alebrini includes one genus, with one new species, the tribe dikraneurini four genera with five new species of late Distant, have been redesignated and described properly. The work also includes keys to the genera and species described. The descriptions of genera are followed by brief accounts of species included in them. All the new genera and species have been properly illustrated in eighteen plate’s ands ninety serially numbered figures. The relevant data of ht5e bionomics and distribution of leafhoppers has also been given.
