Abstract
Arthropod-transmitted hemoparasitic diseases of cattle, caused by Trypanosoma, Babesia, Theileria, Anaplasma and Eperythrozoon, occur throughout the world, their occurrence is greater in Pakistani since conditions are favorable to the maintenance of vector populations. Practically nothing is known about the hemoparasites and hematology of cattle in Pakistan, except Haider published some information about this subject with reference to Pakistan (see review of literature). Chemoprophylactic activity against babesiosis with reference to Pakistan is also un-known. Therefore the present investigation were under taken. Total of 1000 beef herds, ranging in size from 10 to 300 head of cattle (naturally and experimentally infected splenectomised and non-splenectomised cattle), were evaluated for the hemoparasitic infected and hematology. These cattle were examined during the years 1985-1990 from Pakistan. A record of collection was kept regularly to see what hemoparasites and what hematological values of cattle are common In a certain hemoparasitic infections. Likewise a record of collections was maintained and specific numbers arc assigned to each of them for ready reference.

A total of five genera of hemoparasites including Babesia, Anaplasma, ,Theileria, Trypanosoma and Eperythrozoon (each of the first three having two species whereas each of the last two having one species) were studied. The hemoparasites, hematological values and Chemoprophylactic activity of imidocarb, diminazene and oxytetracycline against babesiosis arc emphasized in the result section. The detailed reports have been shown in 1-24 tables.
